Risky cellphones

- Radiations : Radiations waves are dangerous for the body, it can causes acoustic neuroma (a benign tumor in the head) but the chance to develop it is 1 in 100 000. It can cause other tumors. It hurts all our body. When we are in a plane, when it flies, radiations disturbed the operation of the plane.

-Addiction : Cellphones make us addict to their applications.

-Vision : The light of the phone can hurt our vision when there is no light around us.

-Driving : People who drive while using their phones are dangerous, their attention is focused on the phone not on the road.

Today, I watched a documentary that talked about waves from cell phones. I learned by watching this TV program a lot of information!
Today, lot of peoples use their cell phones during long hours but they don't know the danger of that. At first the cell phones may increase the probability of cancer. The cause of this is the micro-waves rejected by our phones. Micro-waves disturbed cerebral systems. They cause damages at the protection of blood brain barrier and the consequence is very dangerous if you use your phone during a long time it might increase the percentage of autism, a disease caused by heavy metals.
Electrosensitivy or hypersensitivy is a psychological disorder due to electromagnetic radiations.
This is also why we have to turn our phones off in hospitals or planes.
When we use our phones we can see a perturbation of the cerebral activity.

So, my dear friends ? Don't use your cell phones all the time
and remember to turn it off when you're sleeping for example !:)

An environmentally friendly soap


Our group is composed of Charles, Eva and Léa. Our key question is : How to create an environmentally friendly soap ?

We use soap in our daily life. A soap is one of the products of the saponification reaction, where butter or oil react with sodium hydroxyde to create soap and glycerine. Morever, you can add to this recipe different additives for different types of skin. For example, dry skin needs moisturising cream and whilst oily skin would need antibacterial cream.
Solid soap is more appropriate than liquid soap, because the solid soap is created during the cold saponification. This technique is the most respectful for the environment and the fabrication of the soap.
Nevertheless, many cosmetic companies all around the world create liquid soap that is harmful
to the planet. For an example, Dove soap has 29 additives and all their properties are not environmentally-friendly. Imagine the number of additives in all the soap of all the brands all around the planet. These additives go to the oceans and pollute the entire marine ecosystem.
Certified organic soap with only natural additives are a good solution for all these ecological problems!

The reverse sensor

Hello, today we are going to introduce you to our project.

Principles of the telemeter:

 We have been working on this project  for five months and we have acquired great knowledge about it. Let's start with an in-depth tour of the principles.
The parking sensor uses ultrasound to  measure a distance. Humans cannot hear ultrasounds because they can only hear between 20 Hz and 20kHz while the ultrasounds are between 20 kHz and 10MHz. On the bumper, there are ultrasound emitters and receivers. Emitters send ultrasounds which are reflected by the obstacle. Receivers receive ultrasound. A software program calculates the distance between the car and the obstacle, based on the duration the ultrasound has to travel round trip, as well as its speed.
The reverse sensor is a relatively recent technology but the ultrasounds are an old discovery ( by Francis Galton in 1883).

Arduino card:

The Arduino card is essential to make a reverse sensor.
The Arduino card is an electronic card which does some information processing to measure the time that the ultrasounds take to go and come back. Knowing the speed of sound, it calculates the distance between the reverse sensor and an obstacle. Depending on the distance, the sensor beeps to warn the driver.

Our goal:
Our goal in this project is to create for ourselves a mobile reverse sensor.
We will also create the software program and add some gadgets. For example, when the temperature of air increases, the speed of sound travelling through the air increases. So we want to connect a temperature sensor to our Arduino card to have more precise speed of sound and therefore a more precise distance.

The dihydrogen bike

In our project, we would like to produce H2 and use it. In order to realise the electrolisys of water, we needed water mixed with salt, so that the water could be conductor. Then we had to think on how we were going to use the dihydrogen. Therefore we used a model that our science teacher gave us. This model served us to represent the dihydrogen bike. We also tried to realise a fuel cell which we have succeeded.
The chemical equation of the electrolisys of the water is :
                                2H2O = 4H + 2O

Charge a phone battery (the hard way)

Our group is composed of Maxime Oçafrain, Florian Fabre and Tom Avril. We decided to talk about the renewable energies at first, but then we found a new key question : How to charge  a phone battery using the lab equipment ?
To answer to this key question, we realized 5 experiment to try if we could or not use these  equipments to charge the phone battery : - Generator and computer
                                                                  - Strirling Engine
                                                                  - Solar Panel
                                                                  - Windmill

Here is how a stirling engine work.
The stirling engine take a big place in our porject cause we, at first, choosed to work only on this.
The principle of how the Stirling engine work is really interresting, cause it mix-up thermodynamic and fluid mechanics.

An exemple of montages that we made. Here trying to charge a phone battery using a solar panel.

 We conclude saying that it was just impossible to charge a phone battery using the Stirling Engine cause of a problem of resistot difference from the battery. Every other experiments were succesfull.
