Can our friends from Greece imagine what has happened?
This is a blog created by Ms Luminati (science teacher), Ms Mathis (English teacher) and Ms Burguière (science teacher) for the students of lycée expérimental André Malraux (Biarritz, France) who are learning science in English. They want to show that science is fun, interesting and easy particularly when it is done in English! This year we hope to work again with some fine European partners. Let us all have fun together!

The dream teams...
This is the French team of teachers. On the left, Ms Mathis (the English teacher), in the center Jade (the English assistant) and on the right Ms Darzac (the Physics teacher) all dressed up to carry out experiments in the physics lab except Jade who does look like a tourist!
This is the other dream team who has been brave enough to choose to learn physics in English!
Starting from the left: Léa, Lola, Mayalen, Rémi (at the back), Jimmy and Benoît (in green). But where is number 7? Marylis was call in sick on that day. We need a new photo!
(By the way, Rémi and Benoît are real-life cousins!!!)

Pastoral office
Pastoral office is a place where students give their paperwork.
It's composed of team of monitors, headed by a .
We must go through pastoral office before going to the infirmary.
Supervisors call parents when students are absent.
When students do not know in what rooms they are, they go to the pastoral office.
I find the monitors are very helpful.

The cafeteria
To enter the cafeteria, you have to put your right hand on a palm recognition machine and dial a code.
Later you have to take a tray, a fork, a knife and a spoon.
Next, you can take a starter if you want, after that you take the main course.
To finish, you can take different yogurts (a plain yogurt, a Danette...), or a fruit, and you can take different cheeses (emmental, camembert...).
After that you enter the dining room, you put your tray on the table and have lunch.
When you have finished eating, you put your tray on a conveyor belt.

The language building
The language building is the best building. We learn all languages: English, French, Spanish. But also subjects such as History, Geography. These subjects are very interesting especially English because we can travel in foreign countries and meet new people without being hindered by the language barrier. It isn't my favourite building since I prefer science to languages. Therefore my favorite building is the science building.

The gym
In our high scool, we have 2 gymnasiums.
In the first gym we can play basketball, badminton and against a wall at pelote (a typical game from Basque country). Outside the gym there is a climbing wall and near this gym we can play pingpong.
In the second gym we can play basketball too, volley ball, hand ball, do gymnastics or judo. Outside this gym we can play football or rugby on a field. There is also a running track.
I like running, I run two to three times a week in local forest called Chiberta. And you, do you enjoy running?

The director's office
In our school, there is one director's office where we can find the director who is called Mr André Villard and he is helped by Mme Tillet. Since this summer the director's office has changed because construction works thus the director and his team settled down temporarily in the building next to the language building. I never go to the director's office, and I think it's a very good thing!!

My presentation...
My name is Mayalen, I'm 16 years old and I live in Biarritz.
I go to school in André Malraux in Biarritz; I'm a sophomore in lab science.
My presentation
My name is Lola. I'm 15 years old. I live in Anglet near the sea.
I dance in Bayonne.
I go to school André Malraux and I'm in sophomore in the laboratory section.
I choose this section because science was too difficult for me.
I like this section because we study at the lab a lot.
We are only seven persons in class, and it's easier to learn.
